OH-05: Negative Campaigning Draws GOP Rebuke; Buehrer (R) Endorsed by Fulton County

The Toledo Blade reports today that the negative attack ads exchanged by State Sen. Steve Buehrer (R-Delta) and State Rep. Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) have prompted a warning from the Ohio Republican Party:
“A negative, divisive primary campaign will not only harm our efforts to retain this important seat in the December general election but also will hurt the winner’s ability to unify the base and avoid unnecessary future challenges,” reads a letter the Ohio GOP sent Friday.
In other campaign news, the Buehrer campaign has announced that the Fulton County Republican Central Committee met on Saturday and endorsed Buehrer by a greater than 2/3 majority on the first ballot. Fulton County is in the western portion of the far-flung 5th Congressional District, which is Buehrer's home base.
