THIS IS JUST PLAIN CRAZY. WHO CARES WHERE CASINO WORKERS COME FROM?
I was doing some serious thinking on this rainy day, and that is always dangerous, but a new thought came my way. Have you seen those CRAZY anti-Issue 3 ads where the announcer somberly tells you that of the 35,000 new jobs coming to Ohio, there is no guarantee the jobs will go to current Ohioans? Are these people nuts...or what? We need the jobs...period. Let's say one of the casinos is built in downtown Cleveland. Safe bet, right? And to support that new casino, they need, say, 8,000 NEW WORKERS. That would be 8,000 people buying groceries, renting apartments, buying condos, leasing cars, eating burgers and drinking in the flats on their off hours. EIGHT THOUSAND workers with paychecks to spend in Cleveland who do not exist today. Now of course unemployment in Cleveland is a major league problem (pun intended)...and surely it would be nice if ALL 8,000 were formerly unemployed Clevelanders...but in the big picture...WHO CARES? We need jobs, and the ballot issue will creat jobs in big cities...and those jobs will create more jobs. Seems like a no brainer to me. The ads are silly. Bill Oneill

Issue Three
To further stretch your thoughts. Who will be recieving these positions in the top secure, high and rich maintained facilities? For the promotion of jobs in Ohio, okay? Stimulate the economy in Ohio, okay? These casino I think will create boundaries and fuse more than anything. Will the people who are granted these positions within the casinos be record clean? If issue three is passed. Of the 35,000 positions to be available... Which class of people will be granted the position? How many people out of job have clean backgrounds? Low as the economy is who can be trusted in the high environment of a casino? Who has money to gamble when the national debt of the united states is $12,000,000,000,000.00?
